Following up from my previous fractals post, I thought I'd share some more. I hope you find them as fascinating as I do!
Let's start with one that has a lot of common features among fractals: Lots of self-symmetry and contrasting colours to bring out the details, but also some asymmetry and a smooth flow of changing colours in much of it, keeping the detail in the features easy to discern.
Now onto some more that feature the very common spiral more prominently.
That last one is particularly stunning, I think, showing lots of self-symmetry, with the strongly contrasting central reds and cyans in the periphery making it really stand out!
And these, although not what you might call spirals, do have a strong central feature that grabs your attention, with interesting areas of detail that surround it to give it a nice finish.
Finally, a few more unique ones that I don't think really belong in any of the above categories, but have some wonderfully unique qualities among them that make them worth sharing...
This first one reminds me of a Persian carpet, with its intricate detail throughout. A lot of small details that make it a great sight on the whole.
This next one has some spiral features and what appears to be a central point of focus, but the large colour-modifying band that made its way across the right side really gives it an interesting asymmetry.
In this one, I find the colours really complement each other very well. The deep blues and calm oranges, with a strong interjection of greens and some deep pinks. For some reason this one really reminds me of a sunny tropical island, with lots of nice beach and palm trees, surrounded by deep blue waters.
Here's one that reminds me of some kind of galactic object. A central "disk" like object with lots of colour swirling around amongst a deep red backdrop.
And finally, here's one that while it obviously could be placed into the spiral category, it has a unique asymmetry that I believe puts it into a category of its own. Two different key spirals, standing back-to-back, almost like a fancy wood carving with incredible detail.
I hope you enjoyed this set! Please feel free to share any of your thoughts on what some of these spark in your imagination as well!
