Olive Oil - the Natural and Cheap way to moisturize your face & body and fight wrinkles.

in #beauty9 years ago (edited)

For thousands of years olive oil has been used as a beauty and health tool. It is said that Cleopatra used to bathe in olive oil as her number one beauty secret. It is natural, affordable and simply feels amazing - men should use it too! Fifteen years ago I stopped purchasing moisturizer when I started using olive oil for everything beauty. I use it on my entire body and most important - the face. Olive oil plumps the skin and leaves a nice and natural glow. I wear makeup only a few times a month, so on a daily basis olive oil is my make-up. Moisturizers these days are silly expensive and olive oil is a great natural alternative.

The fat in olive oil is similar to that of human skin, it rarely causes allergic reactions. It can absorbed quickly and helps lock moisture in the skin. There is a high percentage of fat, as well as vitamin A, D, E & K which can help prevent damage from free radicals that cause aging. The high percentage of unsaturated fat in vitamins A and E, is the most beneficial in preventing sun damage. Most beauty products that claim to moisturize your face or prevent wrinkles have stacks of ingredients, one being alcohol. One would ask themselves why would alcohol being in face products - no idea.

It's quite easy to use. After you shower simply lather it on. Take time to work it into the skin and rub gently until it is absorbed. I use Pompeii EVOO olive oil which has a robust taste and smell but the smell goes away after it is rubbed in entirely. When you put it on your legs it makes your legs look as if you have just been laying out in the sun. Make sure to test an area of your skin first to make sure you have no allergies. Olive oil also does wonders when taken internally. Not always can we fix moisture problems externally, we must also nourish from the inside by consuming good fats. Those can include avacado, coconut oil, and EVOO.

Sofia Loren, a timeless beauty who refuses to age, is always happy to talk about her olive oil use. In 2006, at the age of 72, she was voted World's Most Naturally Beautiful Woman beating out younger competitors such as Catherine Zeta Jones. She takes 2 teaspoons a day internally, 5 in her bath, and she also uses it as a moisturizer. Here is a picture of her in her 60s.

Beauty can be projected in many ways. You can radiate beauty however you want, and feel as young as you want.

It's well said! I personally prefer and constantly use the coconut oil for the external use (for the internal use the list is huge...). In both way's it is a great option to put a stop on an enormous toxicity that conventional products are providing us with. The natural approach is a must if you are serious about the old age!

That's the nicest photo of olive oil I think I have ever seen.

What if you have a beard?
