I don't know whether Marx was a bad person or just wrong. I think he had good intentions and he had seen the ugly side of early industrial capitalism all too well. But he was simply wrong about a lot of things.

Karl Heinrich Marx was a Prussian militant philosopher, economist, sociologist, journalist, intellectual and communist, great man! He was an admirable person with many qualities. Thank you for remembering this great being
He was wrong about many key things. Others who came after him implemented his ideas bringing about horrible suffering to vast numbers of people. Some of the greatest mass murderers in human history were communists.

The cultural revolution of China and the Soviet Gulag system are worth reading about because of the extent of horror those two inflicted on so many millions of people. Neither would have been possible in an open society with checks and balances in place to limit the extent of power held by any individual or group of individuals.
