Beekeeping Hive Inspection - Getting it all backwards and GETTING STUNG!

in #beekeeping7 years ago

For the YouTube audience it's really difficult to create a thumbnail image and title that is interesting and catchy for these hive inspection videos.

This video was about an hour long that I had to cut down to a more acceptable time. I finally got it down to just under 30 minutes. I tried to keep it interesting.

So many people have told me that they find the beekeeping videos fascinating and that I don't need to make them short, so I'm aiming for a good interesting video that is no more than 30 minutes. Ideally I'll get it at the 20 minute mark, but sometimes I don't like cutting it too short.

I do hope you enjoy this video! Don't laugh too much when I get the ol' stinger in the finger LOL

Are you a beekeeper? If so, I have a couple questions for you:

  1. Do you use smoke?
  2. Are you concerned for the Housel Positioning?
  3. How are your bees doing?
  4. Have you entered my contest to WIN BIG!?

Thank you for sharing this time with me!

It is kind of a shock when you do not expect to get stung and then BAM, you get stung. It is all good, being a beekeeper just learn to expect it from time to time.

I never laugh when anyone is stung! I am allergic to bee stings.

I have a cousin and he was the specialist to collect honey. His honey was the best and I know why he picked it up. He left Venezuela because of the difficult situation now in Spain. He used smoke I remember because I saw him sometimes from far as he picked honey.

Smoke. Almost never! Hard on the bee's. Covers the effects of your actions. House. Tryed it many years ago. Not much if any effect on the bees. I prefer letting them draw their own comb in the brood chamber. That dose have a huge positive effect. Besides if you pull the propolus shell out of old comb it is round not a triangle. Cute idea but that's as far as it goes. Far more important things that actually effect the bees to think about.
