Hello everyone! We are BeeMe.icu's development team who advocate for decentralisation and therefore, HIVE.
SteemWorld.org used to be one of the best go-to sites for all things account related. Unfortunately, the developer @steemchiller, decided on staying on STEEM chain rather than switching to HIVE after the hard fork. Obviously, no one can be forced so this was rather understandable. However we would like to voice our opinion of disagreement in terms of blocking custom nodes. In case you do not know what happened; After users started to use custom nodes on SteemWorld.org, @steemchiller introduced a system where it prevented you from using any node that wasn't STEEM. Which effectively, prevented any HIVE user to use the site.
Is BeeMe Stealing Intellectual Property?
Short answer; No.
Long answer; We used one of SteemWorld's old versions released by @steemchiller here. While @steemchiller released this as a "local" version, it is basically the source code for most features. The features that do not work on beeme.icu is hosted on another webserver that can only be accessed through SteemWorld.org, we are in process of writing some of these features ourselves and fixing the website on the go. In the file @steemchiller has shared, there is no license file that prevents the downloader from editing or publishing their custom version nor has @steemchiller ever mentioned that his software was closed source. Therefore, we used this said release as a foundation and started customizing it for HIVE.
Who are we?
We are a small development team who are focused on making tools on the chain for fellow HIVE members to use.
Why are you not revealing who you are?
We would like to stay neutral and prevent any personal fights between ourselves and other community members. As previously said, we are advocates for decentralisation and do not support centralisation. We are aware that many of you have your own opinions, so do we. We just want to focus on the development of BeeMe. In short, BeeMe is created by HIVE users, for HIVE users.
Why .icu domain?
It was cheap and available. That's it, no special reason :)
Can I suggest some features?
Of course! Feel free to send us a memo, comment, make a post on the chain! We will definitely check your post.
Something is broken!
We are aware that some features are not working as intended and working on fixing them as soon as possible. If you think you have discovered something new, please comment on this post or send us a memo.
Thank you everyone!
As much as I like to be able to use @steemchiller's interface on Hive, I'm not sure you are right about the copyright side of things.
Copyright is in by far the most countries automatic, i.e. as a creator you don't have to put any sign in your work or license file in order to have the copyright. You do have to put in a sign or a license file to refrain from this automatic copyright. If a creator wants his work to be public domain or freely usable, he has to explicitly state so. There are numerous ways to do this, and the creative commons license (in its various forms) is amongst the more well known.
In the post from @steemchiller you cite, he only explicitly gives permission for a local version of his work. He does not explicitly say that his creation is public domain, or distributed under the creative commons license, or any other license which would grant anyone to create and publish something based on his work.
A version on a webserver seems to me far away from "local" and thus far beyond @steemchiller's explicitly stated use of the version he published.
His actions show he does not want his work to be used on the HIVE blockchain. It is therefore fairly easy to argue that the website beeme.icu is contrairy to @steemchiller's intentions with his work and in not in line with the stated permitted use of the "local" version you use.
In my opinion, you are in direct violation of his copyright.
As much as I'd like to use it, it is not (copy)right to do so. You should take this website down, and honour @steemchiller's copyright.
Very well said and explained! 👍🏼
This is not an ideal situation, but I am sure people will appreciate having access to this tool. Maybe you can learn from his code to create something new and better. Cheers
Why did you not ask @steemchiller for permission?
Will you publish your code on GitHub?
Best regards Condeas Shell
See: https://steemit.com/@steemchiller/steemworld-weekly-support-40
Yes the code will be published on GitHub once we finished making all the different services fully available.
Sorry guys, in my eyes it's still pure plagiarism!
You didn't even bother to change the design.
What a shiny argument!
You could have at least asked the developer.
There must be other reasons to remain anonymous. That's not a nice way, it's cowardly.
Well, whatever.
Good luck with YOUR created BeeMe for honorable HIVE users.
I waited until I was sure, now I gave you a downvote. Steemworld is copyright by @steemchiller, as long as there is no permission from the developer to run Steemworld on your server, it is an act of software piracy.
In the meantime I think this is right and have just joined! They should have asked him, not just out of decency, respect and politeness! After all, it could have been that he wanted to make a hive version himself.
And secondly, this is also legally at least dubious and borderline, see the first-class comment at the top of @partitura! I hope that @balte, @vikisecrets, @fw206, @satren, @louis88, @theycallmedan, @sepracore and many others will think about it again!

https://steempeak.com/@preparedwombat/q8qb9r
[EN] SteemWorld is copyrighted, to run it on a server you need the permission of Chiller, that is clear and there is no doubt about it.
I can only advise everyone to never enter any key's there, especially as long as the "pirates" do it anonymously. You never know who you are dealing with.

I have removed my vote again, as the original version was apparently not released under an open source license. In the future, we should make sure that projects that are funded or co-funded by the community or the blockchain (SPS) are also made available under an appropriate open source license.
Very nice initiative!
Did he really do that?! What a dick move! (to put it mildly)
I will just say: Thank you!!!!
Did you talk to @steemchiller before you released this version?
Cool man using it already!
Thank you thank you thank you. So glad somebody made this happen, the community needed this one.
Feel free to use the logo I designed for BeeMe https://peakd.com/hive-148441/@daltono/steemworld-is-finally-on-hive-as-beeme-icu
Do you have a 512x512 png version of it?
Yes I do. Here ya go 😄
Love, the logo!
Thanks! It kinda just happened as I was making my announcement post thumbnail. I love the result as well.
Thanks for the follow! following back now 😁
Welcome dear @beeme 😌
We are going to depend on this a lot as we are starting an initiative to buy posts before they are even written by Hivians and need to know how well our investment does :)
Sign me up.
Hello @belemo take a moment and drop your Hivian username on our Pinned post in our community and we'll let you know how much we are willing to pay in Hive 😀
Great job!!
The transfer search is not working. Isn't it? That's a great and useful tool!!
Will you fix it?
Please do something with the colors.
Night mode is repulsive.
Would you consider posting a downloadable local copy?
USERS REALLY NEED THIS TOOL! Do not downvote but as some comments suggest 1. look for agreement of stemchiller and 2 how do we know the use of codes is safe (same is true for steemchiller ofcourse, partly is trust)
The beeme.icu site no longer loads for me using Chrome. Been refreshing the page all week, and restarted my PC. I get a black screen showing no content. All other internet websites load fine in the browser. (Discovered it is working on my Firefox, but no longer for Chrome.) Is there settings in Chrome to check if javascript is possibly disabled?
Initially I thought maybe because I changed my BeeMe settings to dark mode. That was the last time I was able to view the site normally.
Can somebody recommend a place I easily update my delegations from? I have old Steem delegations that carried over to Hive, and I need to cancel some out. I am not savvy enough to use the console for interacting with the blockchain. Steemchiller's Steemworld used to allow me to handle this fairly easy.
hello @beeme, did something happen to this tool? It hasn't been available for a few days.
Mine looks like it was hacked. Here is what it shows full screen.
A week ago it was just showing a black screen, while others I talked to stated it still worked for them.
