Some beers are just... well.... weird. In this series I will feature the most bizarre beers out there. Some might have unusual ingredients, others might have a strange colour and more others might actually be just as interesting to taste as they are bizarre.
In today's first episode:
Abashiri Okhotsk Blue Ryuhyo
Yes, this is a blue beer, straight from Japan. The Abashiri brewery is famous for brightly coloured beers. From bright blue to green and even purple tones.
In winter they won't make your typical dark Christmas beer. Instead they brew this blue beer from the water of the ice bergs that float along the north coast of Japan every year. You could say this beer is threatened by climate change in some weird kind of way. The blue colour actually comes from the seaweed extracts that are also in it.
Brewery: Abashiri
Beer style: Herbal, Vegetable
Alcohol: 5%

@originalworks
Seems like a refreshing, tasty beer looking at the picture, would love to try one day.
With 5%, it should be a light one. Colour looks appealing to some degree.
