Some beers are just... well.... weird. In this series I will feature the most bizarre beers out there. Some might have unusual ingredients, others might have a strange colour and more others might actually be just as interesting to taste as they are bizarre.
In today's episode: Pizza Beer
Mamma Mia! Pizza Beer
Pizza and beer, we all know both are delicious. So why not unite them in a bottle right? There you have the simple idea: a pizza in a bottle. This is typically one of these crazy things from which you're not sure if it you have to find it either brilliant or terrible.
Pizza Beer was invented in the U.S. by the Seefurth family in Campton Township, Illinois. It is described as "the very first culinary beer in the world".
Looking at the list of ingredients, that seems kind of true. The beer is brewed with basil, oregano, tomatoes, garlic and of course pizza crust. Seems like pizza to me (apart from the meat). According to RateBeer, that is sort of how it tastes as well.
Anyway, seeing the low rating it has. I might just stick to my original pizza and beer night for the next football game instead of having this.
Brewery: Seefurth Family by Tom and Athena
Beer style: Pizza Beer
Alcohol: 4,7 %

Great idea!
I have never seen nor tasted that one - but I will be looking out for it from now on
Keep em coming!!
Cheers
I will do one weird beer every Monday. On other days I have some other series going on like Beautiful Beer Labels and I also visited a small beer festival yesterday where I tasted a whole lot of very good stuff. I will systematically review every beer from there as well in the time to come. So stay tuned! ;-)
Good plan - will also post a couple of times per week on beer
