It has been a long time since I posted anything on here, let alone for #BeerSaturday. But I thought I should try to get back into it again so here is my attempt at that.
We went to our favorite local brewery for dinner. I ordered a German Amber Lager. It was listed as 5.1% ABV and 22 IBU. Seemed correct as it wasn't very bitter and I could still walk afterwards.
But beer wasn't the only thing I had. I paired the beer with a burger that consisted of many meats. Bison, elk, venison, and wild boar were blended together. Then that was topped with topped with mushroom duxelles, Havarti cheese, huckleberry bacon jam, and arugula. It was put on a Brioche bun and served with their house fries. I had taken a bite before taking the picture and it was difficult to put the burger down to take the picture let me tell you.
For dessert I went home and had a slice of the King Cake I had made the night before. It was a couple days before Mardi Gras but I wanted some anyway.
I guess I should send this in now and see how it goes.
