Carlton and United Breweries

This beer is a tribute to the original Great Northern Brewery that was established in Cairns, Australia, in 1924. The brewery was purchased by Carlton and United Breweries in 1931. The original brewery was eventually closed down in 1992 and in 2010, CUB introduced the Greater Northern Brewing Company Lager in tribute to that original brewery.
Availability:
Great Northern Brewing Company Super Crisp Lager is available for purchase in:
330 mL bottles, 375 mL cans (recently released 750 mL 'tallies')
Drinkers Review:
An easy to drink macro-lager produced by one of the big Australian brewers. There isn't a lot of character to be found in the beer, but it can be purchased quite cheap and beats most of the budget, mainstream mass-produced beers in the Australian market. It's a reasonable barbecue beer, and something mild for casual beer drinkers. Something worth considering if you are looking for a beer that slides down the throat easily without any real resistance or flavour to stop on the way down.
Something I probably won't go out of my way to get again, but if it's on sale I'd probably think about a carton for a party.

Beer, the goodness that froths and refreshes!
Thanks for reading.
I'd probably give the same rating. Macro, lager, AND small bottle? A definite nay for me!
It is good for cleaning the BBQ though. There are always benefits for poor beers.
Small bottles are pretty common place in Aus unless you get a 'tallie'...
excellent post. have you ever drinked the polar beer of venezuela?
Very cool can. I don't suppose I could find this beer in the USA.
No I don't think so. Probably not one worth searching for if it is!
May give this a try but I don't know when I will visit Australia again.
Loving the series Scotty.
This could go on forever, great stuff.
