Hey there, fellow beer enthusiasts and #beersaturday crew! If you’re anything like me, you're always on the lookout for unique brews that bring a little warmth to your heart and some flavor to your palate. After reading @zekepickleman latest post it got me , excited to share my thoughts on a delightful treat from Burnt Marshmallow Brewing. It's been a long time since I did a beersaturday post ( sorry @detlev I should be more active), but I guess it's never too late to get back into the swing of it.
Before we dive into the review, let’s have a talk about Burnt Marshmallow Brewing itself. Nestled in the heart of northern Michigan this small brewery is tucked away off the beat and path. It's low key vibe means you get friendly staff that's open to free tasting and good conversation. I only spent a few mins in the brewery to pick up some crowlers to go, but in the time spent there the bartender ended up pouring me 4 tasters while she prepared my beer to go.
The S'more Porter greets you with an aroma that instantly transported me back to summer nights spent by campfires. I love darker beer and to be honest I was getting sick of summer time IPAs! I got a bit fancy with this one too by adding a flaming marshmallow to the glass which is how the brewery typically serves this beer.
If you like a sweet blend of chocolatey malts mixed with hints of graham cracker this beer is for you. Actually those notes are all there before you even take your first sip. That complex nose was apparent from the second I cracked the can. Pouring it into my glass revealed its inviting dark brown/black color with just enough carbonation which provides a nice little frothy head.
That gives way to hints of burnt sugar and cocoa. Honestly, it's like eye candy for those who enjoy darker beers. Taking my first sip was nothing short of glorious. The initial taste hit me right away with notes of rich chocolate that play nicely against subtle hints of marshmallow sweetness. The mouthfeel is smooth and creamy, making it an indulgent treat without being too heavy or cloying. What I found particularly delightful was how well the flavors melded together.

Cheers to my fellow hop heads!

I was just talking to my mom and dad about Petoskey this morning. It's been a long time since my wife and I have been up that way, we really need to fix that.
We end heading that way a few times a year to hike. There is a secret beach for rock huntung we like to go to!
Ooh! My wife would love that!
It's sweet which can be a bit much, but I think that the porter style works better than the stout.
This S'more Porter sounds like an indulgent flavor adventure for you!
It super good I was glad I got it.
Holidays should be celebrated with friends and family
It was a good way to celebrate.
I like Porter especially in winter... It seems a very good one, and with the flaming marshmallow, even better 😀
Have a great day
