Heady Topper - The Alchemist

Beer Review

Heady Topper is an 8% Imperial/Double IPA brewed by The Alchemist in Stowe, Vermont. The Alchemist is a family run brewery specializing in fresh, unfiltered IPAs. It was launched in 2003 by John and Jen Kimmich in Waterbury, Vermont. After eight years, The Alchemist opened a small production brewery. Now they are operating two breweries in Vermont and handling all of the local distribution. The Heady Topper is one of the most O.G, crushable DIPA's on the East Coast. For a while it was one of the most sought after beers on the market. Now that an influx of craft brewers have hit the scene, it's much easier to get your hands on a Heady Topper.

The Can

The Heady Topper is served in a full pint can. It has a shiny aluminum finish with black writing. As you can see in the photo below, the can of the Heady Topper features a bearded man drinking a beer with a hop-nug fortress on his head. A long paragraph on the back advises to drink directly from the can to retain the ultimate hoppy experience. My favorite part of the can is the line that says "Don't be a D-Bag, Recycle this Can" in bold, underlined letters.

The Beer

As recommended by the brewmaster, I drank the Heady Topper directly from the can. I enjoyed it while hanging out on the ridge-face of Jay Peak's summit. It was a beautiful day for Spring skiing and a Heady Topper at the top of a mountain. The beer was absolutely delicious. I was thirsty after a couple of runs and this beer went down like hop-water. It has highly floral taste with just a bit of citrus and pine. The Heady Topper is not as juicy as some of the other New England-style DIPAs, but it sure is delicious. It will always be an O.G on the East.

Hello friend @jeffjagoe how are you ?. Excellent, this beer comes directly from the Jay Peak ice mountains for us observers. The beer combines a lot with the image, the mountains and the ice is very good for the beer because it gives to think that it is a refreshing beer like ice. How many degrees of alcohol does beer have ?, friend.

This beer had 8%, it was perfect for the slopes

Oh, of course, yes, with 8% alcohol it's perfect for those adventures on the snow. Great beer, I hope you have an excellent day my friend.

What an awesome review and unique photo opportunity.

Not sure what I think of drinking beer in the cold like that though. Although I imagine a beer after skiing could be the perfect thing.

Thanks @mazzle. Definitely love a beer or two when I ski... the alcohol helps keep you warm on the mountain too

Whiskey would do a good job of that :P

I would like to drink a beer with you. 🤗
