Though nut to crack
This is something pretty hard for me to talk about, but maybe this was a sign from heaven.
My childhood was pretty amazing... Until my mom got sick... Really sick! First she got breastcancer, she was "cured" from that for about 7 years. But then, lightning struck at a clear sky. The cancer was still there, but now in het bones, she had bonecancer. Not curable, just pain relief was the answer, and boy did she have pain! But she was though as World War I - soldier. She kept doing what she liked, even though she could break her wrist from just a little bump against the closet.
She fought for 5 years, 5 hard years. But she wanted to stay with me and my dad for as long as possible.
When she was 48 years old, and I was fifteen, the fight was over. She went into an eternal sleep.
My sweet little mom, called Ginette. I think of her every day, and is now more than 20 years ago.
I named my son after her, his middle name is Ginette. Just to honour her.
Now we fastforward to last weekend. Me and my family go for a long walk, as the sun is shining for a change. At a pond there is a little cabin where you can drink something and it is nice and warm in there.
I look at the counter, and I see a beer bottle with a nice label and the beer is called "Ginette". Lightning again! Wow, that is just something incredible. That name is very rare here, so what are the odds that that would happen.
I ordered one. The triple (triple fermentation) version, and boy is it good. Ok, maybe I am a little preconceived, I know. The taste of the hops is there, but subtle and nice, not too strong. It has a nice bitterness and also a nice sweetness. I love this beer!!! For real.
And it has my mom's name on it!
Do you want to know something more? There are 4 versions. It is only a limited bottling, just for the winterseason here in Belgium. By AB Inbev (Jupiler, Stella, Leffe,...).

It’s “bio” as far as you can trust that on a label, but believe me, it’s real good! If you know “Straffe Hendrik” or “Brugse Zot”, well you can compare it with those but better!
