here . I send him over some beers (all dutch and one belgium) for him to taste, because he is a real beer lover and he make this great video's about it.For the ones who haven't read my previous post about the beer tasting and reviewing posts of @meesterboom have a look at his latest one, you can find the post
Today I wanted to review a beer myself but I can't it close to the way @meesterboom does it, so I will stick to a written review.
Bock beer
This review is about a Dutch Bock beer. The name Bock beer comes originally from Germany and was a 'German only' beer. But now, besides Germany, the beer is brewed and served in many countries. From origin it is a bottom fermenting beer but since some years there are also top fermenting ones. The different kinds of Bock beer are served between october and may and is therefor a real "season beer".
The autumn beers are mostly dark while the ones served until may are often a bit more lighter.
The most brands in Holland, like Heineken, Grolsch, Brand, Hertog Jan, release a Bockbeer every year. Every season the shops are filled with all kinds of bockbeer. For me heaven because I love this beer a lot and love tasting the differences between them.
In my former hometown Zutphen there is this festival every year which is all about Bockbeer. The festival is visited by more then 120.000 visitors every year. There is a parade with horses and carriages which will bring "symbolic" the first bockbeer to the people. On the festival there are a lot of local and big brewers which present their bockbeer which you can taste and drink of course. I have been there several times, but for me it's to crowdy. When you can't walk because of the mass it's quiet rappidly over for me :) I want to be able to move...
Because of this festival the local liquor store (my favorite) always have about 50 different bockbeer's on stock.

I love tasting all different brands and kinds because I love a good beer :)
So this review is about two bockbeers, one Dutch and one Belgium.
Texel's Bock
![a261fccv51.png](https://images.hive.blog/768x0/https://img.esteem.ws/a261fccv51.png)
I have written before about the Texels beer brewer. Texel is a island of the Netherland in the north sea. When we were there on a holliday I have tasted a lot of different beers from this brewer. The most famous is the "Skummkoppe" followed by this one, the Bock beer.
The bock beer is very dark because of the roasted barley malt. It has a caramel taste with just a little bitter sweet. The taste after a zip is awesome, full body, great beer. With 7% aclohol it is more heavy then a regular beer but certainly not to heavy. So @meesterboom ,if you will ever get your hands on one of these....go for it :)
Brugse Bok
![o8ve3tywn1.png](https://images.hive.blog/768x0/https://img.esteem.ws/o8ve3tywn1.png)
Brugge is a ciy in Belgium close to the sea. The tast of this beer is (in my opinion) more to a normal lager beer with a bitter taste. I think this beer will be awesome during a dinner. It completes a meat dish. I don't see the immediate relation with a bockbeer as we know then here in holland but it is a good beer for sure.
Conclusion
If I had to choose for one of both I would go for the Texel's Bock, but both beers are delicious.
I still have some more Bock's from different brands, who knows ... perhaps I will write me another review... For now I will enjoy the beers on a great and sunny sunday afternoon..
Have a great day,
Peter

These look really tasty! There is an American beer called Shiner Bock. It is really closely associated with the music scene down in Texas and even in Nashville I saw a lot of people drinking it. It is a very tasty beer though I don't buy it as often as I should.
I really love Bock beer. I think I love it more then a normal beer :)
