Bees Day 3

in #bees7 years ago

Well, we moved the bees into an actual hive.
The queen refused to go in the hive. Lucky for us, I bought some frequently bought together items on Amazon and we had a little claw to catch her with. Nobody got stung and we are hoping the stay in this new box.

Those of you who aren't familiar with Justin Seabolts work won't recognize his art on the hive. Not allowing him to use dark colors was a challenge for this talented artist. He successfully created a great work of art as is tradition for him.

We gave the first hive to an other local artist to decorate and they left it out on central ave in Saint Petersburg and someone left with it.

Jeez, you guys are fearless!

Nice! If you transferred the brood from the nuc, they won't abandon the hive. Be careful with the open feeder near the new hive, too. It can stimulate robbing by nearby strong colonies.

Moving feeding into the hive. Thanks for the heads up

So I caught 3 bees not from our hive and a wasp.
