Hi Steemit community. My name is Ron but my nickname from college is Mufassa. Partly because of my deep voice and partly because of an in class debate in a social science class where the professor told me to calm down Mufassa lol. And just like that the name stuck. I am not only new to the Steemit community but I am new to world of Blockchain/cyrptocurrency.
When I was in college back in 2006 I had the opportunity to mine Bitcoin on my computer but I turned it down. I had a floormate who was into big time and was mining Bitcoin. We thought he was crazy but needless to say he was far ahead of his time. Fast forward 11 years later and I realize the errors in my ways.
Recently I wrote a short write up on blockchain, I will share it, on another platform and a college class mate reached out to me to explain what I knew. We talked for about thirty minutes and he explained he was getting into cyrpto investing. That motivated me to get off the sidelines and engage in the crypto community.
As of lately I have invested in mining contracts, outright bought cyrptos, I am still learning how to build applications with the blockchain technology, watching the financial markets to study companies investing in blockchain and now writing for Steemit.
I view Steemit as a way to share my thoughts and research topics that interest me. Typically if I was to share something on another platform I would not make compensation but maybe exposure. Steemit is a great platform to actually make money through blockchain. I don't know if I will ever make a ton of money but for now this seems very therapeutic.
So moving forward I will not have a particular writing focus, I will only focus on things that interest me, Maybe along the way I will develop a specialty and see where things go.
Currently, I have my Bachelors in Political Science, Certificate in Paralegal Studies, Masters in Management, and studied Information Systems. I work in the corporate world in information governance(basically a really specialized librarian lol).
Cheers to the journey
