Le concept de pavillon de banlieue ou de maison de ville est différent au Japon comparé à l'Europe. Avec 70% de la surface du pays recouverte de forêts ou de montagne, devenir propriétaire au Japon se paie très cher. D'où le concept de "micro-foyer" : des maisons très petites mais très ingénieuses.
Sur cette photo on peut voir une maison tri-famille, notez l'unique place de stationnement, le moindre espace est optimisé pour s'adapter à la faible taille des terrains disponible.
