This piece is from a collection I made for a show that focused on women in history seen through the viewfinder of 'Home'. In many ways Women's greater and longest history is a domestic history. Good or bad the home and its environs were made by and made up the women of our history.
This piece was made with a monoprint using soy based inks in an abstract pattern using teals and oranges. The figure, pattern and stair were made with two silkscreens with soy based inks.
The chair was created as a 'ghost' by not passing ink through that piece in the screen. In this passing creating this print I chose to not flood the ink space with chair so the colour of the monoprint behind would shin through. The overall affect being one in which the figure the home and its furnishings acted and were acted upon as one.
I shared this peice awhile back but am attempting to build up my portfolio on Bescouted. It is a great source for photographers and design and many artists are starting to take advantage of it. You can join Here
