Rain over Port-au-Prince lit up by the Setting Sun

Port-au-Prince, the capital of Haiti, the capital without a single skyscraper. It's a sprawling chaotic mass of 1-3 floor houses. Most of it are gang-controlled slums where even police won't go without having to bring along an assault team or two. While extremely dangerous, chaotic and not exactly beautiful, it's definitely an exciting place to be in. I came there to find a ship out of the island, but found just very unlikely acquaintances and non-ordinary experiences. I actually have a full-length post about that story. It can be found here:
Haiti: Poverty, gangsters and UN party

Yeah I remember this post. Haiti went through so much shit and disasters and yet people are still waiting for positive change. I hope they're gonna catch a break finally!

Haiti has a rich history of shits going on. They can make it through, i guess.

Hello, @ nameless-berk, I was curious and searched the internet for information about that country, and I read that it is a country trapped in misery, they say that people who arrive in Port-au-Prince, will not be the same person, will be shaken by the humiliating conditions of life of the inhabitants, and their religion the majority are catholic, but they are also practitioners of voodoo

To know all that you could also follow the link provided in the post (um... twice), no need to scourge the web.

Interesting post... Thanks

When I hear about Haiti, regardless of the catastrophe that we live in Venezuela, what fills me is a deep sadness because there have been so many tragedies that have lived this country that seem forgotten by the whole world and where nobody wants to go ... That shy twilight that looms with the setting sun on a rainy afternoon, what reflects is a deep sadness rooted in a city that begins to fall asleep within his world of rites.
This shy twilight seen in this Port-au-Prince photo, where the sky is illuminated, is produced because sunlight illuminates the upper layers of the atmosphere, spreading light in all directions through the molecules of the air and water. , illuminating all its surroundings and leaving a very wonderful landscape to the observer.

Another twilight in Haiti.

Greetings.
