Not buying Bitcoin when it was 10 cents, because I thought it is a silly idea...
Later: Selling Bitcoin when it was $30, because I thought such a price is ridiculous for something nobody is using (except a hand full of geeks, who just do it, because it's somehow cool and they're simply smart enough to do it) and it won't go higher than that.
Ive been lucky enough not to lose too much althought i could have invested in crypto way earlier XD
I ignored advice to buy BTC when it was about $200. I ignored it again when it was about $400.
To say I'm a bit wiser now about such things would be the understatement of the year.
Oh and I did have a coin wallet app on my phone and lost the book where I'd written the keys down. What did I do next? Lost the phone of course. That was a $300 mistake.
Life in crypto eh? What a giggle ;)
Funny. Great Steemit topic, though. Mine is small. I was a new Parity user and was familiarizing myself. I was opening up the different sections and found myself verifying a transaction for a contract that someone sent to me thinking that I was transferring some ETH to another account of mine. I ended up sending someone a small amount of ETH thinking it was my transaction fee. Damn blackhats.
In Shapeshift, I was trying to send $20 worth of ETH to convert it into another crypto and glitched and changed to ripple. I wasn't able to recover the private key of the crypto it sent to, but if I had it would be worth $1000+
Tried mining bitcoin when it was around $13, Mined about 10 coins then my hardrive crashed. I never recovered my wallet.....At the time it was whatever, but now...i want to cry when I think about it haha
how many good techs have had a go at that hard drive?
How many times have we all rebooted hard drives...and wiped good files!
I almost bought 1000 btc when it was $3, but got talked out of it. Then I almost bought 100 when it was $30, again got talked out of it. Finally bought a few at $200, and have booked a nice gain. My son was mining in HI, and got a tidy little stake up, only to be informed by coinbase that he was not allowed to transact in HI, so now his btc is on paper waiting an opportunity to get off the island. Hope it happens soon.
Not understanding anything about it and everything I am missing because of that good or bad.
