Congratulations MONERO/XMR from a Dashtard!

in #beyondbitcoin8 years ago

I've been following and writing (in German) about Darkcoin, as it was called back then, since April 2014 . As such I could not but also hear about Monero, because that`s the coin those guys in the dash-bitcointalkthread supported, who kept trolling about the instamine, a problem the Darkcoin community had solved for itself in the open and was willing to move forward.

I never quite got the tribal behavior and fierce competition in Crypto-la-la-land, so when I say I am a Dashtard, it's tongue in cheek. I'm as much of a Bitcoin- or Steemtard for that matter. A voluntarist Cryptotard

I had looked into Monero as soon as I learned about it on the dashthread, because what I was getting out of the fierce discussions among the experts was, that its anonymity features where in fact superior and I always am willing to grant that. I just did not care, because Dash had turned its focus away from being only "Dark" and the the Dash privacy function was just one of the features and good enough for most cases normal users want privacy for (and for the Snowdens and Ross Ullbrichts, there was still...Monero).

Still, the Dash trolling did not stop and I am not aware any respected member of the XMR community ever really tried to stop that. Well, here is one person who did never really touch XMR just because of the numerous toxic elements and bad leadership (as from the perspective as an outside investor) and who now applauds you for surpassing Dash.

I now sincerely hope you succeed in being the most bad ass anon crypto ever and if I ever need something better than Dash's  PrivacyProtect, I'd buy some and  use it.

I also hope that the most prominent members of your community who happen to be influential Steemians, will display the same level of ardent scrutiny and idealistic fervor when watching this new thing here grow, as when you where vigilanting in the dashthread.

Seriously, really makes me much more confident in Steemit knowing that a brilliant and fair mind as @smooth is watching this. If all your vocal supporters where like him, I'd be having a nice sunday enjoying my XMR profits, so enjoy a Dashtard having "missed the boat", those who know who you are :-)

I heard that Monero is now being accepted on the darknets. Can you tell us if there has been a jump in the number of transactions per 24 hours (in other words, are people actually using it?)

I read that as well. But I have no idea about the data you are looking for, sorry!

Really interesting @fabio ! I myself started investing in Monero a couple of weeks ago, lets remember that since Bitcoin appeared, it has been widely used for dark and ilegal purposes,
now Monero could swallow all that market.

Congratulations to the Monero team. There is plenty of room for amazing crypto. This community is still in its infancy.

Very interesting. Thanks!

Any ideas why it's climbing so much now? (I'm quite sure it's some obvious and well-known reason, but I have yet to read about it here on steem...)

The Darknet acceptance news and it's certainly helping that some Monero guys have now lots of BTC thanks to Steemit.

hi fabio. great!
its gone 100% up again. so when would be a good timing to buy?

waiting for a drop to 3-4 ? what do you think

Oh, I am out, no idea where this is going. I don't need a constant 100% anoncoin holding and would be waiting for Zcash. I'm hodling and nodling my Dash.

I tried to mine Steem but it don't work for me, so I'm mining Monero now.

Interesting insight.

Monero is a money vacuum today. It might end the week at #3.

Holy shit, just looked into it, guess its too late now to go on board....

Is it too late? I'm new to crypto. Purchased btc for the first time yesterday with the intention of investing in monero but as a first time btc purchase it is taking way too long. have I missed the boat?

i wouldnt do it, there is a big chance it goes down after the hype... But its crypto, everything is possible.

fabio.... did I just play TFT with you? :D

Nice article. I will have to look into both Monero an Dash, as I've been busy with things outside the altcoin community for some time.
