July 3rd: What Cryptocurrencies Am I Holding/Trading?

in #beyondbitcoin7 years ago

A lot has changed since I last wrote about my cryptocurrency portfolio on June 11. There have been pumps, dumps, flashes, crashes and one major reallocation of my resources.

Here is my cryptocurrency portfolio as of the morning of July 3rd. Any advice, critiques, questions or comments are certainly welcome - always willing to listen to new ideas.

STEEM
I'm now at just under 7.3k Steem Power - up nearly 2000 since my last post - and looking to add more. I've recently added a small amount of delegated SP through testing @minnowbooster, which worked very smoothly.

I don't plan on powering down anytime soon.

BITSHARES
I dumped all of my ETH and a good portion of my BTC into bitshares around the 9500-10500 satoshi level. That investment hasn't paid off yet, but my belief in the technology is still there. I recently shorted the USD and bought more BTS at .22 USD.

BITCOIN
I'm holding a small amount of BTC on Bittrex right now - I finally got all of my funds off of poloniex. If I see an opportunity for a good trade, I won't hesitate to deploy it.

VIVA / TQS
I own one VIVA Crown and one TQS, which combined is valued at around $1500 USD as of this morning. Patience is key with this investment. The TQS gives dividends based on fees from the @tradeqwik exchange.

PEERPLAYS
I can't wait for PPY to be available for trade on Open Ledger. I own a small amount purchased through the ICO, but I want a bunch more. I'm targeting 100 PPY before the dAPPS start hitting the wallet.

ZAPPL
I own just under 50 @zappl and would like to add to my position before they launch. Their technology has looked very nice.

Bitshares UIA
I own small positions of Whaleshares and BeyondBits, which I use on my own posts as well as others. I also own some a small amount of @steemfactory, which you should definitely be following and supporting.

VIRGROW
I'm a supporter of @virtualgrowth by owing his VIRGROW token on OpenLedger. He has amazing giveaways here on steemit and performs share drops of tokens on his token holders.

ICO
I own small positions in DENT and ZrCoin. I'm currently looking for other promising ICO opportunities, so let me know if you have found something interesting.

Liquidated Positions
I sold my short-term positions in PTOY, DGB and STR. I also sold my entire stake of ETH at just under .15 BTC.

Is there anything that sticks out to you? What does your portfolio look like?

Sort:

Crypto makes taxation voluntary. Can you imagine if governments had to compete for tax payers?

Governments have, for all of human history, extorted taxes via force. Threat of imprisonment, violence, seizure, etc. What happens when citizens can carry a lifetime of wealth in their heads, spend the wealth anonymously and without a trace, and pass that wealth to future generations with no record?

That is the true power of crypto. Governments that adapt quickly and move to attract crypto wealth by respecting privacy, providing excellent service and showing fiscal responsibility will flourish. Governments that continue to treat their citizens as milk cows, are wasteful, corrupt and violent... will wither and die.

Crypto is freedom.

It's a nice idea, but you still encounter the free-rider problem. The tragedy of of commons remains an enduring dilemma.

That VIVA crown is going to be quite valuable i the next few years! They have so much in the works, and it's still a good time to get in, in my opinion.

What about EOS? I also want to get more PPY since I only got a few in the ICO. EOS and PPY are related in a way, and since you want more PPY I wonder what you think about EOS.

@nepd you say that you've shorted the USD. Are you just saying you exchanged some USD for BTS? Did you borrow USD to buy BTS?

Also, I find it interesting that you've diminished your BTC and sold off all your ETH. I vaguely understand the upgrade that BTS is over both plays, but those two assets (BTC and ETH) have the largest market caps, the largest communities and the largest number of developers. Clearly the entire crypto space is very risky, but taking the two least risky assets and exchanging them for a more risky piece is more risk atop even higher risk.

Not trying to be a jerk, just want to push back a little to elicit some healthy discussion. Thanks for sharing.

I borrowed USD to buy BTS using Open Ledger.

I just don't believe in ETH, but I still have a decent (for me) amount of BTC.

I agree this is a risky play on my part, but I have exactly $0 invested in crypto, so this is all pure profit.

Appreciate the dialogue!

I saw your post in the #postpromotion channel on the WhaleShares discord. Thank you for being with us! :) You do hold a lot of coins. :) I exchanged almost all my Bitshares for WhaleShares and WhaleShares for BeyondBits, they are so worth to use right now! Also there was an eagle today, have you caught it nepd?

I SO wish this made more sense to me! Maybe some day...???

Your top positions are all based on DPOS. If this tech runs into difficulty (as some predict) you may be in trouble. Something to think about!

Nice coins and information. I am going to get more TQS now add your post reminded me!

TQS is an interesting proposition. Are you a crownholder as well?

I am indeed! Well met fellow crownholder! It is, I am fascinated by the whole thing and looking forward to the developments on the way.

Nice post, thanks for sharing.
I just vote up you;)

i sold half of mine.

Is there a reason for not trading in poloniex? I trade mainly in POLO. Am I doing something wrong?

🚨 SCAM ALERT 🚨
Look up Nanohash on Youtube or google
Looks like a fraud
@Wiedy

nanohash still paying you are a spamer im just spreading a new mining cloud, its paying out so is not a scam if you can prove it is a scam give the info, not just writte on all my comments the same, i can do it back and flag you because its paying right now and is online http://nanohash.net

Do you mean I am a "spammer"? How do I spam if I am just commenting under YOUR spam? I just want to warn people so lets see who gets more upvotes.
I think Nanohash is a scam because there is no real support on their site, they say the telephone number is coming soon, the registrated adress is a small landside in the UK, the server is in russia, there are numerous articles that users had a bad experience, they tell you min payout is 1$ and then they tell you its 20$ and you should mine more...
You just want people to use your affiliate link thats all!

But yeah, thanks for the downvote!
Rant over @wiedy

indeed. they said that their datacenters are from russian federation iceland and germany, and so then why is paying out right now? scam is when someone invest and loss they are giving for free 15KH/s for anyone who wants to start a mining bussisnes, and they are paying out, look payout 0.420 BTC in 9 days, its my second day and look there are the double of new total users, im the 4325

https://www.nanohash.net/about

You Sir are straight up naive!
As you say you are there since two days and never got a payment!
They dont even tell you what coin you are "mining"
They claim to have paid out whopping 0.42 BTC thats not even 1500 USD haha; 12% interest per day 4500% annualy I mean come on man

Happy 4th of July
I am not going to answer another time @wiedy out!

look, this is so fun cause i know that not a lot of users are using their acc to invest they only take the 15kh/s and anyways its running, so the 0.4 btc is the few payouts those are withdraws lol its your problem if you dont want to try it
