Thanks for the post @terrybrock, really helped me a lot, I think it is important that down-votes should include a reason, so that the downvoted person knows what was done wrong... and I think down-votes should be - "downvote able" then if alot of individuals do not agree with a certain downvote it can be removed or withdrawn... let me know what you think
