The logos are sick. I think the incentive of steem and the community culture drove this competition to produce some legit creativity. That said, I have some doubts as to whether whaleshare is better than whales just powering down. I would imagine if the network switched to being more content creator driven and less early adopter driven, it might start competing more effectively with the likes of CNN, The Verge, Bloomberge etc... The very nature of steemit implies that it should already being doing this, but it's not and I think that largely has to do with the underlying politics of such things as whaleshare.
Dont blame me for steemit.inc having such a ridiculous stake.
With that said...please learn about steempower and why its valuable. Then...if u want to complain...realize u are complaining about quite possibly the most valuable tool on the entirety of steemit for little guys who dont have money to waste and an interest in earning crypto in return for quality. This is your next step in the lesson.
Then realize i did this all with money i could have powered down. But if you think it would be better for me to power down and lose incentive to build is a good thing...forgive me for saying this but u are cray cray. I am building...and building alot of value that i see in few other places. And soon to offer other whales the ability to stop sitting on their asses with upvote bots and start building too. So we can inspire other people with resources to buy sp and build stuff with us...
Now with that said...I have no intent on being anything like bloomberg or cnn. These are crap sold out platforms that are worse than you claim steemit to be (with which i agree in ways). So i honestly am completely confused by your response and think you are probably too confused to explain it. Very worth it to listen to our hangouts though so you can join and listen to me talk about this stuff ;)
FACT: If Steemit replaced those sites (CNN, Bloomberg, The Verge) your stake would be worth over a billion dollars eventually.
I would love to be present for one of your hangouts. I don't claim to not be confused about steemit. I do however know that the science of gaining exposure on steemit is not based on the quality or integrity of content alone. The easiest response to this to shut someone up is to just suggest their content is not engaging or interesting, but I personally am on enough platforms across the web to know this is not the case for me personally or for many others. I also, based on what I do know to be true about steemit, want it to be more successful than you could ever understand. I know it's hard for you to understand just how seriously I want the platform to be successful because you have such a significant stake in the platform. But I want it to be successful, not for the value it would return me with my much smaller SP stake, but for its potential to solve issues sites like YouTube and Medium.com are failing at solving for creators. I actually made a video where I mentioned you @officialfuzzy, specifically and held you in high regard, because I have much respect for the whales like yourself that do seem to be trying to create systems that make steemit more sustainable and rewarding for all parties involved. That still doesn't change the fact that I feel personally as though I have thrown myself into discord, read actively and thoroughly for learning purposes, joined chainbb, downloaded eSteem and joined whatever other third party channel, forum or project to gain a better understanding of how to play a more influential role in the growth of this platform and gain exposure for my content and you are absolutely right, after 6 weeks on here...,
...I AM CONFUSED.
For the record, I have invested in steempower, but...
FACT: If someone can't come onto this platform and just engage freely, speak freely, think freely and curate, comment and produce content actively and eventually make a living and grow financial independence from their energy alone without investing, taking part in contests, paying randowhale, paying minnowbooster, or buying whaleshares, then a platform will come along where that is possible. Perhaps it will be the video blockchain based platform spawning out of steemit that I believe you are actually working on or maybe I am mistaken about that point, but you understand what I am saying.
I agree and disagree. We need to talk about this though. Lol. Too much to type. ;)
One quick answer though is...it doesnt happen overnight. And the fate of steem rests in what steemit.inc does with that massive stake. Imagine what they could do if we can do tjings like whaleshares with a fraction of the funds...
I urge u to rethink steemit though. It is not a social network as much as it is a mutual aid society with a basic framework for a social network added in.
And yes...when steem tech replaces these sites their owners will be very wealthy. Im cool with replacing them...just not holding them up on a pedestal as something to emulate ;)
But to answer your question...yes other chains can use steem tech to do some really cool stuff. I look forward to the future in this.
Don't just leave it at that man. Explain this hangout thing to me. Do you mean Google hangout, are you talking about a discord channel, or what? I know you have the inside route to the steemit illuminati. Give me the keys.
The steemit illuminati? I must leave it at that. Im too busy building stuff and searching for solutions. I wish u luck ;)
lol
Since I read through these comments, I might as well chime in with some info as well.
There is a Whaletank hangout tomorrow hosted by Beyond Bitcoin. You can find out how to join here:
https://steemit.com/beyondbitcoin/@officialfuzzy/whaletank-special-announcement-beyond-bitcoin-hangout-215-7-7-17-with-cheatcodes
You can sign up in the comments with a project of yours, if you feel it's relevant to context of the post, or just listen in and ask questions to the projects being discussed. It is a great way to get some exposure and feedback on your project as well as a nice way of learning about new all the cool new things happening in the Steemit/Crypto space.
Just to make it clear, I am not running this, Fuzzy and friends are, but I thought the info could be useful to you.
