So today I discovered a new token in my wallet. A token that promises to be the essence of magick. Of course I immediately started to dig a little. A few minutes of exploration led me to the discovery of styx.nyx-labs.com and from there I was rapidly absorbed into its currents.
There's a lot to talk about here. I am still trying to understand exactly what is being built- but so far I've thoroughly enjoyed it. Styx isn't another Hive frontend, but posts made there can be forwarded to Hive with EXXP integration. Then what is it? Well that's honestly tough to say. It's a gamified social media platform with built in NFT creation tools for multiple blockchains. At least that's what it looks like to me.
I've explored a little and have been acquiring MANA and XP as well as some items just for interacting with the various features on the website. Its all very mysterious- things keep happening telling me I got some XP or completed a step towards acquiring an item and I'm not quite sure what I did. But I think that is kind of the point. The mystery adds something to what otherwise would be a pretty normal exploration of a social media platform. There are a few users on the platform already and posts linked from Hive or unique to the platform.
Then there are the blockchain bridges- which in my opinion is where the magic will be here. It looks like we will be able to mint NFT's on Styx and then push them to various other blockchains like Ethereum, Binance, Hive, and others. My understanding is that the various items acquired through the gamification mechanics will also be NFT's. At it's heart there seem to be lots of ways for content creators to monetize, share while maintaining ownership, and create. It looks like a pretty exciting future for this platform and I can't wait to see how it develops.

It is definitely massive- the fact that you can mint NFT's on the testnets already is pretty impressive and the game aspect seems like it will be really interesting! Time will tell and in the meantime there is some fun to be had collecting the items! !PIZZA

Interesting stuff. So much going on in the crypto/blockchain world it's hard to keep up
It's definitely an interesting time to be alive and in crypto. If this one works out how I think it might then it will help bridge a gap between several chains! !PIZZA

Well this is really early in development so you've got time to get assimilated on hive before branching out lol. The nice thing is that it links back to hive through the EXXP plugin for posts AND other blockchains through bridges for NFT's. I'm excited to see where the river leads us! There is a discord for testing and the community but they do not have a tribe or frontend right now. They are building connections to multiple blockchains so they have chosen not to go that route at this time. There is a Hive Engine token though that will interact with the game elements and be used to power the NFTs called SMANA
As I said before it is still in early development though- lots happening and being worked on!
