RE: Introduction

@gail-brown-hill - I saw that you upvoted my post - the first which is 19 days old at the time.
Thank you!
However, it is good to read the FAQ as well as posts regarding upvotes, SP and regeneration, etc. to properly manage this limited but valuable asset - your votes.

votes - upvote or downvote does two things

  • impact on reputation (all new members start at 25 and votes from those with higher reputation score will cumulatively increase yours when they upvote on your posts or comments)
  • based on the SP from the upvote, it rewards the post or comment with the associated SP (new members have very little to give in SP or $ - I have invested $ to buy Steem and Power Up, so, my votes are worth $0.13 @ 100% - your vote does not really pay - see https://steemnow.com/@gail-brown-hill)

Just like most, if not all, new steemians, I voted too much and depleted my votes and also commented and posted too much and exhausted my bandwidth (https://steemd.com/@gail-brown-hill << see it here). Both regenerates, so, it is important to monitor and understand what remains.

I hope this helps you and all new members.
All the best!

Thank you very much. The link says I have 97% of my bandwidth remaining (after 3 days). How often does it regenerate? Is there a way I can get back to that chart in the future other than digging up this comment to find the link? I'm assuming that as I post, comment, obtain votes that my votes will gradually become worth more? is this true? Thanks for the help!

Remember this - this is a platform / environment that do not have central control and we are all responsible for our own journey here. The best things to do have been posted in my blogs as well as in those that I resteemed.
Read them and the FAQ - we all need to do that sooner or later.
