I have never understood where this nonsense came from. She is mentioned in 12 verses and the only one that says anything about her background is Luke 8:2, "And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils, "
How can anyone get from that verse that she was a prostitute? Total nonsense and anyone who claims it just shows proof that they don't know their Bible.
