Malaysia's Prime Minister Mahatir Muhammad on Tuesday said on Tuesday that three Chinese-backed projects will be canceled. The total cost of these projects is $ 22 billion. Mahatir said that his government is going to take this step to bring the economy down the country.

There is an ECRL (East Coast Rail Link) in these projects. Under this, the Southern part of Thailand from Malaysia's capital Kuala Lumpur was to be connected to the railroad. The remaining two projects were related to gas pipelines.

Mahatir said, "We do not want to move forward on the ECRL project. I have conveyed to Chinese leaders this. These projects are very expensive.
