I am a pharmacist in a hospital in the Midwestern United States and am licensed in three states. Prior to my current life as a clinical pharmacist, I pursued a research career in academic cancer, genetics, and methods for determining secondary and tertiary structures of ribonucleic acids (RNAs). I have a master's in chemistry to go with my doctor of pharmacy. I am published in the journals Cancer and Genomics. I have also written or edited a number of encyclopedia articles for Salem Press.
I have research interests in drug design that likely will go unfulfilled and which focus on the design of small-molecule drugs that target nucleic acids in vivo, especially RNAs. I would like to apply pharmacogenomics and a better understanding of antibiotic/other drug cross-reactivities to the practice of pharmacy.
I enjoy arena rock, downtempo, electronic, and other music. Before professional school and pursuits consumed so much of my life, I played keyboard and guitar in bands and was known to win small-time karaoke contests, even getting compliments from random strangers on the latter. I tried out for 'The Voice' once, but was not selected.
In 2017, I also applied to be a contestant on 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire', and qualified for the show, but have not yet been called to appear.
I enjoy travel and made it to Europe for the first time in the first half of 2017. I have also traveled to Hawaii, Samoa, and Canada, in addition to many of the United States.
I have had an idea for a series of epic novels burning a hole in my head for more than half my life. If my drug design pursuits do not pan out, I may begin putting those down.
I recently became interested in cryptocurrency, and am active on GDAX and Bittrex. Still learning to crawl before walking on that front. Running is a goal, hence my appearance on Steem. Any good advice on crypto or educational material on how blockchain works, beyond the basics, would be appreciated.
I would like to be a professional, medical presence here, answering questions as they arise or posting short, health, medical, or other science articles for mass consumption and upvoting. If you have any questions, send them my way.
Interesting read! I saw that you joined couple months back but this was an interesting read. Take this upvote and keep on steeming!
I know how hard it is to get big upvotes on a new account so you should try out @MinnowPowerUp where you can earn up to 30% more steem power than just powering up through steemit! It's a subscription based daily upvote bot that draws its power from a delegation pool. I compiled this post to explain the system in more depth and share my own experience in earning wupvotes for over $1 a day.
