Happy belated birthday to @flowerbaby

My girlfriend has finally turned 21 years old! She was born on June 4th, 2000. It's pretty crazy to think that she never experienced any of the 1990s. She doesn't even know what dial-up internet sounds like.

I was born in 1992, so there is an 8 year age gap between us. Despite our age difference, we have always managed to get along great. We share a lot of common interests, but most of all just enjoy the company of one another no matter what we are doing.

Since it was @flowerbaby's birthday weekend this past weekend, I wanted to make sure that things went as smoothly as possible. It is impossible to guarantee that, but that didn't stop me from trying.

Friday was her actual birthday, but we both had to work all day. She luckily got off several hours earlier than me, but we weren't together until around 7 pm. She got into her birthday gifts first thing, which was a lot of fun to watch.

After that, we went to one of her favorite restaurants called Crepizza. We sat outside on the patio and had a yummy meal. Towards the end, something weird happened while we were finishing our dessert crepe. We were sitting right in front of my Audi when we heard a loud noise come from it. The car actually bounced from it too. At first, we couldn't figure out what it was. After close inspection, I realized that it was a spring in my suspension. I guess it had finally been worn down far enough that it just burst. This had happened once before but is a pretty rare thing. Luckily we were across the street from the Audi service department.

This means that as soon as @flowerbaby turned 21, she was all of a sudden one of those girls dating an older guy that didn't have a car, albeit only momentarily. Luckily we were able to call an Uber to get back home and I'm sure my car will be repaired by the end of this week. We finished the night by watching the new movie The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It. It was not that great, so much so that we stopped it and finished the film the next afternoon during some downtime.

The car trouble and sub-par movie were the only bad things to happen this weekend. This is of course besides the fact that she also got stuck working on Saturday. Normally she's off every Saturday, but of course, on her birthday weekend, her employer asked her to be there. She didn't have to work until the evening, so before that, we went to some yard sales in Nitro and Bancroft. We didn't find anything good besides three cool rings that she purchased for under $10.

While she went to work, I got to hang out with my best friend @simpleeme. We have a few awesome collaboration posts coming later this week. Be sure to stay tuned for that, I promise we will entertain you.

Sunday was where the real fun was for @flowerbaby and me. We traveled a few hours away to the WV Renaissance Festival. Wait until you see what @flowerbaby dressed up as. She was looking absolutely magical and kept receiving compliments from other patrons. That post too will be out later this week, so of course, be prepared for that.

Overall the weekend was a great time together. I am very thankful to have been able to now celebrate two birthdays with @flowerbaby. This time last year we were at Hilton Head in South Carolina.

The following photos were taken Friday evening on @flowerbaby's actual birthday. This was shortly after we got back to my place from dinner. We had a pleasant conversation with our Uber driver but were happy to be alone once he dropped us off. Just look how beautiful my baby is.
