What was your worst own birthday party?

I guess my worst was the fact that I never had one until age 21 and even that one I arranged myself. I lived with both parent and they always gave me gifts for my birthday but that was generally the end of it. I never had an actuall party to which I could send out invitations and have people come over.

Not that I really minded, since I was a shy young boy and probably preferred it that way. Though I was invited to quite a few other kids parties and sometimes went. My first was at age 3 where all day I was too shy to go and when I eventually got the courage to go to my neibours party a girl chased me away. I got the courage to go again at the end of the day and the party was over. I got to eat a few leftovers though.

I also visited many of my cousins parties though those were always great with lots of games and food.

Though I wish I had a party of my own to celebrate my own birthday and get to make a wish and be the one blowing out the candles.

I have turned 40 this year so I no longer look forward to seeing a cake full of candles.

I did not have it too bad though, I have heard of kids hosting parties with no one turning up. Or the parents getting drunk at the kids party. It could have gone worse so I consider myself lucky.
