Hi Guys,
It has been a bloodbath! Are we still alive? Over the last couple of days I have gotten so many questions, Amresh buy, sell? buy more? Do nothing? I am a HODLer. I buy when I can regardless of how the market is performing. So my obvious answer is: buy if you can. Sell? No way.
It is amazing how human psychology works. We are social animals. When we are fearing we all fear. When we can eliminate this limitation everything is possible. True great investors have made the highest returns by being contrarians i.e. buy when the herd is selling and sell when the herd is buying. Crypto investors are by definition contrarians. We are buying crypto because we have been put off by the traditional financial model.
Ask a crypto holder what he or she thinks of the current financial system and all hell breaks loose. The herd still needs to see this. In the months November, December 2017 we seemed to get there. Lots of media attention for crypto, primarily because of the rise of bitcoin. It did some good to the market. I have seen people entering the crypto market because of this media attention. A good indicator.
What I am also positive of is that more and more people started to talk about it. Under normal circumstances this would be an indication to get out of that market. If your maid or taxi-driver starts to talk about stock investing you know it’s time to get out. But with crypto investing this is a good signal. It indicates that the ordinary crowd is entering. This makes the market stronger as the crypto coins gain value by being adopted. The more people that use a specific coin the more valuable the coins becomes. Crypto is all about community and community building, hence the more people talk about it the better.

man i had the same experience today in taxi, the radio was on and suddenly a new about "cryptocurrencies!" guess what the taxi driver did: turned up the volume haha obviously i was in the back seat consulting my blockfolio lol

Since I have been investing in crypto for a couple of years now I have not been following the stock market. The last few days the stock market has been declining too. As more traditional investors enter the cryptospace the more the markets are linked and correlated i guess.
So this means no place for new comer if they haven't any investment this is so hard to make a place for new players who are ready to work hard.

Listening to the news or the general opinion is the worst we can do, following what they say is a sure way to failure. In fact I sometimes use the general consent to figure out what to do by doing the opposite of it)

fear is a limitation
People usually freak out when cryptos begin to fall and am uses to same questions from sone new crypto holders asking a lot of freaky questions. Truth is that am use to crypto fluctuations, its very normal that time comes when they go high and times also comes when they drop. Av equally learnt not to fear when cryptos fall i rather see it as the very beat time to buy more and not sell. Looking at the circumstances surrounding the crypto market now, its very obvious that every normal crypto investor would want to sell at this point out of mere fear and discouragements but thats not the same for me. I already bought more now because know its the best time to buy knowing that it will soon skyrocket again and when it does, they sky becomes my stepping stone in the world of crypto currencies.
I totally agree on the fact that when the crowd is getting in, it’s a good sign for crypto market in general.
The main problem with them is that they are driven by the big establishment fake news factories, thus the people make terrible mistakes based on the drop of a shady fake news...
People just need to focus on their needs, emancipate from the system, for which crypto is going to be a huge ally to fulfill their needs with much more efficiency than the traditional system.. Focus on the fundamentals, crypto is the future !
Definitely agree. I have been loving this bearish market great opportunities to increase positions and also to get more experience with how the market cycles as a newbie to crypto. Mass adoption woohoo!!

I have seen several other intelligent people predict huge prices in the future per steem. I, of course really hope those predictions are right!
But we must never forget the responsibility we have now as this community to make a steem a welcoming and positive place. I think we are important for the future success of the steem blockchain, so we need to keep making a steemit a great place for interactions.
