Centralized exchanges are the weakest link in the crypto space, I am sure you may have heard about the catastrophic Mt.Gox hack in 2014 and recent coin check hack in Jan 2018. The combine loss of hack is nearly 1 Billion US dollars. People are still skeptical about investing in cryptocurrency and events like this are no more than fuel to their burning doubt.
What if there are no exchanges to hack?
Yes it is possible, In these mess of adversity, the brilliant and high-profile developers came with an idea to develop cross chain swapping or atomic swap, the way to trade tokens directly between different blockchains without any trusted third party.
