Nice coverage. Media Protocol as you have pointed out is a lot more generic than steemit. that has its own disadvantage as well. There is lot more hang time for companies trying to develop on it.
Steem on the other hand is pretty close with SMTs. it can allow instant connection with existing aggregators and i think that is crucial in this business.
Media Protocol seems to be a rip and replace solution that may not be favorable to every one.
