But what if one uses any other source of wallet, what's the guarantee that your cryptos ain't at stack from them too?

if you use open source wallets, you dont run this risk. You open a free acct at Bitshares which is its own blockchain. Transfer cryptos either there or cryptobridge.....your login in info is good for both exchanges. YOU hold the private key and only you. Your password is your private key. Cryptobridge is a de centralized exchange built on the bitshares blockchain.
