As we mentioned in other posts, Dubai is the city with the highest level of acceptance and determination to adapt emerging technologies, for this it is making alliances and forming organizations with the aim of fulfilling its vision, among these are Smart Dubai Office and Dubai Future Foundation , who are in charge of leading the administration of the project.
In order to achieve their desire to introduce the new technology in the city effectively, they considered the construction of a work guide, known as the Blockchain Strategy of Dubai.
Among the goals of the project is to initiate economic opportunities for all sectors of the city and consolidate Dubai's reputation as a global technology leader, in line with Smart Dubai's mandate to become a world leader in smart economy, boosting the spirit business and global competitiveness.
Dubai has a long tradition of leading digital innovation for the region. Now, for the first time, Dubai will be a pioneer in the application of new technology for cities and will share it with the world. When it is successful, Dubai will be the first government driven by the block chain, boosting the economy of the future.
The Blockchain strategy of Dubai establishes a roadmap for the introduction of block chain technology and the creation of an open platform to share technology with cities around the world. The Dubai Blockchain strategy is based on three pillars of government efficiency, industry creation and international leadership.
Strategic pillars
First Pillar
Government efficiency . Under this pillar, the new strategy will contribute to greater government efficiency by enabling a paperless digital layer for all city transactions, supporting Smart Dubai initiatives in the public and private sectors.
The required documentation, such as visa applications, bill payments and license renewals, which represent more than 100 million documents each year, will be processed digitally according to the new strategy.
The Blockchain technology would contribute to a savings of up to 114 tons of CO2 emissions from travel reductions, and redistribute up to 25.1 million hours of economic productivity in the processing time of stored documents.
Second Pillar
The creation of the industry . Dubai's Blockchain strategy will introduce a system to allow citizens and partners to create new businesses using technology.
Under the new strategy, Blockchain will enable thousands of business opportunities in the private sector. The industries that will benefit from Blockchain technology include: real estate, advanced technology and banking, medical care, transportation, urban planning, smart energy, digital commerce and tourism.
Third Pillar
International leadership Dubai will open its Blockchain platform for global counterparts to improve safety and comfort for international travelers to Dubai.
Under the new strategy, international travelers will benefit from faster entry with passports and security visas and pre-approved passports; easier mobility within the city due to approved driver's licenses and car rental; wireless connectivity guaranteed; improved tourism and wallets and pre-authenticated temporary digital payments.
The third pillar of the Blockchain strategy will be delivered through a Global Trust Network with partners in Europe, North America and Asia.
The Dubai Blockchain Strategy is developed and implemented in partnership with the Dubai Future Foundation , the leading independent research organization that will play a key role in shaping Dubai's future in the light of Dubai's Future Agenda adopted by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum
The Future Agenda of Dubai will focus on involving various public and private sector organizations, such as the Global Blockchain Council, founded seven months ago by Dubai Future Foundation and includes 42 government entities and private companies to analyze the best applications in Blockchain technologies.
Current applications
The work is already being harvested with fruitful results, causing more investors to be attracted to the cause. Among the projects that have come out efficiently is the case of emWallet, a digital wallet that unifies the payment methods in a single mobile platform.
Another example is the security offices in Dubai, which are using Blockchain technology to combat online crimes, using it in such a way that research is done efficiently and quickly.

It is proposed that by 2020 all public services in the city will be supported by blockchain adaptations, this is facilitated by the companies that are collaborating to the ideal, being:
