As of 5:45pm Eastern Time the Large US Based Bitcoin Exchange Bitfinex Has Confirmed That They've Been Hacked and Bitcoin Has Been Stolen.
The Price of Bitcoin is selling off on all other the major Bitcoin Exchanges. Five hours ago the price of Bitcoin/USD was $600 as of 6:40pm Eastern the price is at $530.
Update at 6:57pm Eastern - Bitcoin/USD contining to sell off, it's currently at $507 on the Coinbase GDAX Bitcoin Exchange.
Update at 7:45pm Eastern - Bitcoin/USD hit a low of $480 at 7:06pm Eastern on Coinbase GDAX, the price has bounced back to $535.

It's bouncing for now - of course this puts a lot of uncertainty in the minds of bitcoin market investors so it'll probably take a bit of time to get back to $600.
