Breadwallet on Reddit: "IMPORTANT: A fake breadwallet app was just added to the Apple Store. Please be cautious, we're contacting Apple about it."

Looks like yet another scam was added to Apple's Store. This is like the 3rd incident in a relatively short time, what the hell are they doing, or rather, not doing over there?

This is getting out of control. Vet carefully any app you use these days. Also online wallets. If you use Dash, watch out for dash-wallet.com. This is a scamsite also. Only use wallets from sources you trust. This is so important.

This is like the 3rd incident in a relatively short time, what the hell are they doing (...) ?

A shitty job!??!

yep, most likely. funny how they block legit apps from entering and let this shit through

Tell me about it. The official Dash wallet was rejected for no apparent reason. We are trying again, but still caught up in the review process. Thank goodness Jaxx is integrating Dash soon, or we would have nothing on the App Store...

easy, just name it breadwallet and you're good to go

Sad but true.

I am pretty sure they have just a good enough explanation to get out of anything they f**k up...

Yes a lot of fake apps are being approved by apple. I guess they are losing their touch. They need to up their quality game and they need to do it asap!

thanks for the info @ash 8]

For what it's doing?

It's a wallet you can download on the App Store. If you load it with BTC, they are nice enough to help you carry your load. Soon you find out that they've taken your entire balance. True story.

Wow these people got so much time to make new apps And scams people money away .why they don't make something better for people .
I really don't understand why .
I got scam several of times like this and that time I really really broke end up being scam by such stupid website called CLDmine .
Those scammers should have robs someone else richer not poor people like me (everybody else) .
Thanks for your information and warning about those scammers anyway :D

They sure do block a lot of legit apps, which begs the question, are they actually reviewing each app for content? Or blocking apps selectively because of personal issues with the publishers or app capabilities?

I'm fairly sure it's the latter, from my experience.

@kencode can you use this to your advantage for #smartcoins_wallet

Be careful of all reddit ads. It seems like they don't check them out properly before putting them up, or probably have no idea about blockchain and can't tell scam from real.
Here is another time I noticed a scam and brought it to others attention, the ad was removed a couple hours later.

indeed. an indicator for bitcoin raising in popularity is the amount of time scammers invest in it...

I stopped even using the actual breadwallet app some time ago, after learning more about them

please elaborate?

There was a KYC AML thing happening. I was brand spanking new to hodling so I didn't want to take chances. I think it was around BIP35 ?
