What should I do now? Should I return it to the previous owner? Should I cash it out? Is it legal? Should I buy other coins?

Hey Steemians,

I found an interesting Bitcoin question on Quora - I bought an old used computer and I found 130 bitcoins. What do I do?

When I put myself in the situation, I am getting many thoughts.

It made me think about possible opportunities and questions regarding the matter. Such as, will it be ethical to steal someone's money? am I being greedy by not returning it to it's owner?

I would like to know your views on this?

Hi @asolopreneur,

Well, 130 Bitcoin is currently worth $2,461,680.
So, with that kinda money, I'll just look after my family
and have fun.

However, If you do know the owner of the laptop,
It's best to return the money.

Thanks :)

With that sort of money you could buy Bitcoin!

That's 130 bitcoins = $2,461,680.

What would you @btcmillionaire do if you get 130 bitcoins?

Hey @phrase

Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

$2,461,680 is huge amount. I would have invested little in other currencies.

Don't you think we should return it to it's previous owner?

Creates a real dilemma .....you now as the rightful owner of the computer are also the rightful owner on everything on it. So from that perspective, the coins belong to you. However that is a lot of money...maybe share half with previous owner. Who knows...you might want to do the right thing and give it all back...which would be a noble thing to do. I once found a wallet containing several hundred dollars, drove a fair way to return said wallet (as I was heading in that direction for a golf tournament). Knocked on woman's door and handed over her wallet. She slammed the door on me, without even saying thank you. That's when you wished you had taken the money. Will I return a lost wallet in future? Yes, always, because it says more about me as a person!

Hey @skytronia

Yes, it creates real dilemma. It's important make a choice ethically and it shows the moral value of a person.

Love your response. i'm sure that if did return it to the previous owner and by doing this you are doing whats right, they would reward you handsomely? At least I like to think so!

For Obvious, i will return it to the Real owner
& Will become a friend, lol

What if he doesn't give you anything? @pstalks

I would return the majority of Bitcoin, but leave some of them for me that I could invest them in other cryptocurrencies:)

That's my take as well. I think, the previous user deserves it because he was one of the earliest adopter of the technology.

You said that perfectly.
