The Birthday of Bitcoin City

in #bitcoin8 years ago (edited)

Once upon a time there were three people in Arnhem who wanted to pay their drinks with Bitcoin. They contacted different companies in their city, to convince them to accept payments in Bitcoin.
On May 28 2014, they officially opened their Bitcoin City and at that time 15 merchants already accepted the currency. Soon after, many more followed. At this moment there are more than 100 companies accepting Bitcoin for payment.

The city attracts many tourists who want to spend an entire weekend, paying in Bitcoin only. They stay in one of the hotels or B&Bs which support payments in the digital currency.

May 28 is the birthday of Arnhem Bitcoin City and they celebrate that every year. This year it's the third birthday. If you happen to be in the neighbourhood, pay a visit.

You will find more information about the celebration of Bitcoin City right here:

Book and pay for everything well in advance. That way, by the time you go there, your prepaid amount of bitcoin will be a lot less than the current price due to the increase in the value of bitcoin!

It makes you think that Bitcoins could be here to stay. Very welcome in the scheme of things. Lets do the greedy bankers and banks down in anyway we can! Thank you for bringing it to my attention. X

great post @bart2305

Thanks a lot @adrianobalan :-)

you're welcome @bart2305

Bitcoin City must have made lots of cash since then

I'm sure they have :-)

Re-Steemed - real on the ground footwork - fantastic. Thanks.

Thanks a lot Rick!

@bart2305,
As always useful post man.

Even here in Lithuania there are few places where it is possible to pay Bitcoin

Did you ever try it? I think there is a serious problem with paying for a drink in Bitcoin these days. Confirmations can take days these days and the fees are crazy. I hope you can pay with altcoins too.

Thanks for the resteem btw :-)

That is cool! I didn't know it!

@bart2305,
This gets so deep into the heart of BTC it blows my mind to think that I would want to buy Real estate in this city because of the opportunity and the growth using BTC.

Thanks for the top notch quality content as always!
Best,
Isaac
