With it's most recent boom in price Bitcoin has garnered a lot of attention. The Bitcoin Craze caught the attention of some environmentalist who have started to shed their light on the process behind creating new bitcoin, mining, and the many negative long term effects it will have in areas we have tried so hard to progress.
The energy crisis of bitcoin has been a known thing amongst the community that many developers have been trying to tackle rather it be through forking bitcoin or creating a new cryptocurrency altogether that is based on a more energy-efficient framework.
Thinking about this brings to mind a few questions:
*Will bitcoin be able to work around it's 'anti-green' image and become more energy efficient?
*Will this be the leg up that another cryptocurrency needs to become the leading currency, if so which one?
*Is there an energy efficient alternative that will not be as harmful to the planet or can this be what ultimately brings down digital currencies?
We have an energy efficient alternative, it's called steem and your post is recorded on that very blockchain.
Great point! Cheers, mate!
