It's still a very new platform. It's not unusual for hype to come and go in bursts. I wouldn't be so worried about the rank, but rather what sort of value does it offer to humankind?
If you can answer this question competently, then you have nothing to worry about because new technologies may take a while for people to adapt and learn how to use them. Not to mention there's a whole bunch of laws and regulations to factor into the equation. STEEM and the Blockchain absolutely do have valid use-cases in the future , so consider yourself lucky that you are able to get in before it blows up.
