Breaking: Mobile Payments App Circle Acquires Crypto Exchange Poloniex For $400 Mln

Circle is partly funded by Goldman Sachs, Baidu, and a number of other notable firms. Poloniex is one of the older exchanges and is ranked 14th largest exchange by 24 hour trading volume. This move should speak volumes with how big companies are starting to invest in crypto, either directly or through indirect associations.

This move also signals a growing trend of established companies forming closer ties to crypto. Upbit - one of South Korea's largest exchanges - was established earlier this year by a subsidiary of internet company Kakao.

Self-proclaimed "Satoshi Nakamoto" Craig Wright is being sued for $10 billion by a representative of David Kleiman. Kleiman was a computer scientist and cyber-security expert, whom many suspect to have been one of the developers behind Bitcoin and the Blockchain technology.

The plaintiff claims that Wright stole hundreds of thousands of BTC, worth over $10 billion dollars at today's rate, from David Kleiman's estate.
