Can someone explain to me the difference between EOS Token Distribution and actual EOS coins?

Sort:

EOS tokens are ERC-20 tokens on the ETH blockchain during development, and will become EOS coins in June, with launch of platform. It is necessary to register your tokens to receive coins.

I'm already in through wallet.bitshare.org, thank you so much!

Simple explanation of how EOS works from @dan

They're the same coin. The difference is how you get them. EOS is being distributed via https://eos.io/ by contributing ETH. However, the site blocks all US based investors as distribution is allowed to non-US based investors only. The amount of EOS you get from contribution depends on the number of investors who contributed ETH during the "period" (resets every 22 hrs). I tried VPN but did not work. On the other hand, you can buy EOS from exchanges such as Binance at market price.

Got it! great. thank you. @sandalphon,
