The answer is so simple. Hilarious to see so many answers saying something about some sort of “8MB block” being mined or whatnot..
The answer is in essence, as Gil Eyal stated, being manipulated. And it’s already visible with your own eyes who it is. Try searching up the Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash exchanges and look at the volume trading. Basically, who are the ones actually buying Bitcoin Cash right now.
Basically, ALL of it is coming from the Korean Bitcoin exchange. Korean financial institutions are literally PUMPING UP Bitcoin Cash with billions of dollars in hopes to jumpstart a Bitcoin Cash bear market.
So, from there, I’ll let you devise the reasons on why certain financial institutions are for some reason suddenly pumped billions of dollars into Bitcoin Cash literally overnight into an “awkwardly new” high price.

Thank You For Sharing!
It's basically that, for now.
Thanks for being the only one that actually mentioned about the HUGE mining effect recently.
I think you meant to say jumpstart a Bitcoincash "bull" market. You said bear market. Anyway, Bitcoin cash is trash.
Agree that it being manipulated, plenty of proof ....twitter , roger ver ..!
also I think you mean bull market not bear ....
That's what i'm saying.
I don't think that's what the author meant. I got from the article that they're pushing the price up artificially, so that they can then push it down later, which would be a bear market.
why would they want to push it down later?
Manipulators make money on both sides of the markets they're manipulating.
See Aaron Russo's movie "Trading Places" for a humorous take on this reality, starring Eddie Murphy, Dan Aykroyd, and Jamie Lee Curtis: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086465/
Oh, cool, Thanks for the recommendation. I like movies like that!
You're welcome, enjoy!
Care to share any proof? Interesting article but have learned not to believe anything that is posted online without actual proof.
Not that you're going to buy into this; because It's an "online" website. However, most people start their day withcoinmarketcap.com I do too so when I was wanting to know why Bitcoin cash shot up it was my first stop. If you follow this link you'll see Keoren markets have spent $1.7 billion in South Korean Won to buy BCH. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/bitcoin-cash/#markets
