Within 2 years of operation, the Bitconnect project was able to attract many investors. It existed from February 2016 to January 2018. BCC coin owners earned a guaranteed profit of 1 percent per day. By some estimates, the loss of customers is about $ 1 billion.

Most affected by the project BitConnect are residents of the United States. Therefore, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is investigating this case and searching for people who have invested in Bitconnect and suffered from its collapse. This notice is on the official website of the FBI in which it is suggested that everyone who participated in this project fill out a form regardless of location.

The FBI is looking for potential victims who have invested in Bitconnect cryptocurrency (BCC), which was first released as part of the initial offer of coins in November 2016.

The notice further explains that for most of the existence of the BCC coin, all trade was carried out through a proprietary exchange organized by Bitconnect. The market capitalization of BCC by mid-December 2017 amounted to more than $ 2.5 billion.

An interesting point is that the co-founder of Ethereum ETH, Vitaly Buterin, tweeted a post in which he warned investors that the promised 1% per day is a clear indicator that Bitconnect is a Ponzi scheme.
