Interesting, I didn't realize that cheetah couldn't differentiate original content like mine from something that is merely the same subject. I thought you literally had to copy and paste to have it show up.

Apparently not.

I encourage you to click through to the reddit link, I actually just saw it after cheetah linked it. Definitely a lot of conversation about this topic in there!

I didn't read through the reddit post to even see how close it was to yours, but I've personally had 2 of my posts incorrectly flagged by cheetah.

Both times I went on the steemit chat and appealed it and they quickly reversed the issue.

I've even posted about this before, but never really got a solid response back from anyone...but what if you run a blog and post their first then post on steemit will that cause cheetah to flag?

It's a weird system kind of because obviously cheetah is going to make mistakes, but does it also penalize you later if you post on steemit first then rotate to the blog? I mean you own both spaces, but it can't differentiate between the two so who knows what would happen.

Either way, if you're stressed about it just appeal it and you should be taken care of pretty quick. 👍

Thanks, it's encouraging to hear I'm not the only one this happened to. I actually don't mind the bot, it does serve a very important purpose, I just didn't realize it's interpretations could be that broad.

You also bring up a good point about referencing your own material from another blog. I guess it's just important that users can actually click through to make their own judgement call on whether or not you're blatantly plagiarizing or if it truly is your own content.
