A fresh Perspective on Cryptocurrency

Just a post to think about instead of panicking about the price drops of your favourite crypto

We have been using a certain type of 'cryptocurencies' for years

Gift Vouchers, video game platform dollars and even food stamps etc and so one of the factors to consider when wondering why the volatility is so crazy is the fact that you can trade crypto currencies back to Fiat.

Another factor to consider is that the currencies that exist today have no defined value on their system which we can compare to value of something similar.
For example 1 coin on any of these platforms does not specifically equal 1 song or 1 app or 1 keyring or t shirt on that system or infrastructure setup. Comparing that to other vouchers etc,

As most people know you can't exchange or trade a gift voucher for cash! It's stuck as currency on that platform whether it's sunglass Hut, Apple or Google Play dollars plus a big pain with this old tech is that this gift voucher currency expires after 12 months. Whilst it holds value it is only for 12 months and only to purchase something that is a depreciating asset.

There is a definite future for cryptos and a definite graveyard for this old 'gift voucher' tech that traps your money in that business but i hope to see some of this new currency give itself some value instead of asking its value to be determined on what people think at any given time.

This is actually how I explain cryptos to anyone new to the market.
They are all valuable to the platform they're attached to for various reasons and some have additional benefits or rewards for using them

There is room for many currencies but interchangeability of them is the important part and for mass adoption to occur, people will have to be using cryptos in a far easy and safer way than they exist today.
