Bitcoins are poised to see another fall in prices after last few days gains. The reason would probably be the same - Jamie Dimon the erstwhile CEO of JP Morgan Chase Bank. He was quoted in an interview in saying that cryptocurrencies ‘to me are worth nothing.’
Jamie Dimon warned that governments will control the cryptocurrencies and its necessary to eventually ban them. Governments would start throwing those who buy and sell them into prison.
It is interesting to know the direction in which bitcoin prices would be travelling.
what they fail to realize is that the more they pull these stunts, the less of an effect it has
@crypto2crypto i guess its good for us. Let these type of statements come daily and there would be time the prices would go up instead of going down
You can't ask people who make money with the traditional financial system, if they think the competition is good.
Does anyone expect for a minute he'd say "oh yes! Bitcoin is great! Infact, if you are holding any JP. Morgan Chase shares, now would be a good time to sell those and buy bitcoin instead"
@intelliguy you have made some really serious observations. I completely agree with you that JP Morgan shares can be sold right now to buy bitcoins. Criticism would always be the part of any new innovation.
Yes.... good buying opportunities at much lower prices
@offgridlife fingers crossed
I'd buy more Bitcoin at $100
While I don't advocate a violent overthrow of government, I can see the need of rethinking how governments work. We definitely have the technology to be able to select a random group from the population of statistical importance. This group could sit much like as in jury duty to listen to arguments one way or another posited by political parties on any particular legislation. For instance take a thousand people to vote on legalizing marijuana - political groups wanting to produce arguments for or against would make presentations to these people. These voters would be anonymously in polling stations around the country watching these presentations.
Spending on government programs could be handled by individual possibly several times per year.
probably on your personal profile on the government website. Alternatively there could be a "Budget_coin" which you would elect to pay into specific departmental "baskets".
For years in Canada there has been a movement of amalgamation with the idea of cost cutting. Much like a marriage where two can live as cheaply as one but it just cost twice as much - I have found that centralizing power in the hands of fewer people is not any more efficient nor effective. Certainly Iceland is a country (roughly 350 thousand) which could quickly adopt a new form of government. While this might be an ideal size of a city state, countries like Norway and Finland (roughly 5 million population) might be fairly close to the optimal size for a "country" (my hypothesis is 3 million or 6 million). I feel countries should no longer be geographically determined (throw out sea to shining sea) but demographically determined.
