Steve Bannon, the former aide to President Donald Trump and a firebrand of right-wing populist movements, is now touting the liberating potential of cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.Read more: https://www.coindesk.com/steve-bannon-crypto-revolution/Bannon alluded to both the financial and nonfinancial applications of blockchain, such as for managing personal data, on Tuesday at an event in Zurich sponsored by the Swiss newspaper Die Weltwoche.
During his lecture, part of a European speaking tour, he described cryptocurrency and blockchain technology as the "very heart" of a populist movement in Switzerland.
The former head of right-wing media outlet Breitbart, who helped Trump win the presidency in 2016 as the campaign's chief strategist, lauded the importance of decentralization when he said:
"Central banks are in the business of debasing your currency. Central governments are in the business of debasing your citizenship. The central technology conglomerates are in the business of debasing your own personal sovereignty and your own personal data."
This man's opinions don't make me feel anymore confident in the crypto space. His cultural relevance is fading quickly anyways.

I may not agree with many of his views but definitely crypto has brought a lot of freedom in financial transactions.
as long as there is no coin you can really pay with and most of all independent from fiat-money it will not be a real freedom of fiat-currency. Nobody uses BTC to pay with, everyone expects to make a fortune with it .. what we need is independent online-markets with a coin you really can trust in - that it is as valuable tomorrow as it was today and yesterday !

More and more people are starting to realize the applications of crypto currency. Your starting to hear about it more and more about the positive aspects in the media and news outlet and less about it being a bubble/scam :)
The cryptocurrencies will be strengthened in the future.
