BIP91 doesn't carry the 2x part, just Segwit
I too was watching that spike this morning, checked the XBT Bitcoin stats and it's all back above 80%. I wonder why it dropped yesterday.

Well... they are traded against BTC mostly so they will be worth more automatically. However a lot of people hedged into LTC and ETH until this date. It will remain to be seen if they all try and swap back out, but its a possibility.

Only if you assume that prices will remain the same, which is hardly fact. Usually the price adjusts accordingly. However, most altcoins have a positive correlation with $BTC prices, so most likely a rising tide will float all boats
hope hard fork won t happen
With the activation of BIP91, which is now projected to lock during this period, there should be no hard fork.

I didn't say that there wouldn't be. I said that there shouldn't be. The activation of BIP91 illustrates the desire of the community and the miners not to see a hard fork. I think that they will continue to work together to implement SegWit2x and continue to fix the issues that arise in the network. I think that good will for the network will continue in the mining community. Bitcoin is just too profitable to risk, and miners want mining rewards.
